Orange and blue

You can’t see the world from the outside
And that’s what you’re doing here
Taking a look around
You can’t hear the sounds unless you’re around
And that’s why you’re listening
And not just drowning out

I swore I would sit here and write this song
And these words come forth like a kiss
From a girl that I surely miss
I put pen to paper but it’s too hard to see
I know that I’m writing
But I don’t think the words are from me

Between the night sky and the sea
The lights of a sleeping town
Shadows cast softly on the waves
Hiding the strength below
Under the surface lies
Under the tears you cry
Under the asking why

And there will be worlds above this and beyond
A place where my heart can rest
A place where my spirit soars
I swear I once lived a life bigger than this
Somewhere between restless sea
And here on the quiet shore

There are only two moments that matter
Now and forever
For all our endeavour
Without either one we will get nothing done
All is forgotten
Our fruits become rotten

Between the orange and the blue
I have found something new
As sure as the waves crash on the stones
I know this is my home
Here between sea and shore
Here between peace and war
