With you tonight

by Pete Brazier

/

about

A song I wrote back in the 80s. I did this recording partly to try out some portable recording gear.

lyrics

With you Tonight

Verse1
I take the early morning train
Fast train to the city
The early Morning light
Plays tricks on my mind
I imagine you in front of me again
Talking of the lonely nights that you spend
Waiting for the day when I return
You’d have thought by now that I would have learned

Chorus
I should be with you tonight
I should be there by your side
I should be with you tonight
And I’ll be there in the morning light

Verse2
I take the bus from the station
Through the streets I once knew so well
I walk up to your door and my heart
Misses a beat as a tear rolls down my cheek
Standing here in front of you again
Trying to imagine how you feel
Holding you within my arms again
I’d have thought by now that you would have forgotten me
