All People who Share Life on Earth

from Hymns in the Time of Lockdown by Pete Brazier

/

about

This is a modernised and feminised version of William Kethe's 16th Century hymn, "All People that on Earth do Dwell".

lyrics

All people who share life on Earth
sing to the Lord with cheerful voice:
serve God with joy, shout out her worth;
come dance before her and rejoice.

The Lord, straight up, is God for real;
without our help she made us all.
She feeds us with the food that’s real;
We answer to our home girl’s call.

Through gates and ring the bell with praise;
come chill at God’s own sweet style place;
shout out, big up her name always;
we know it’s right to share this grace.

Let’s talk of why our God is good;
She’s mercy all the way, for sure
her truth, forever, firmly stood,
and shall from age to age endure.

To God the parent, spirit, son
the one whom heaven and earth adore,
from earthly creatures and beyond
be praise and glory evermore.
